We want everyone to be able to travel, and we don’t want your concern about coverage for an existing condition to stop you from booking your next trip. That’s why we offer coverage for pre-existing medical conditions on our Owner Advantage Plan.
If you purchase our Owner Advantage Plan within 21 days of your first trip payment, and you’re medically fit to travel at the time of purchasing the Owner Advantage Plan, we’ll waive the pre-existing medical conditions exclusion. This means you’ll have coverage for the scenarios outlined in the policy, so be sure to read it before you buy. Exclusions on pre-existing conditions don’t apply to NH residents.
Our travel insurance with car rental coverage can offer reimbursement of up to $50,000 with a $100 deductible if you purchase our Rental Car Damage Plan, or $35,000 with a $100 deductible if you add on the rental car damage upgrade to the Owner Advantage Plan for accidental damage caused by the following:
- Collision
- Theft
- Vandalism
- Windstorm
- Fire
- Hail
- Flood
- Stolen rental car
- Any cause outside of your control while renting the car
If you rent a standard car with an original price under $75,000, we could reimburse you for one of the following covered accidental damage expenses (minus $100 deductible) up to $50,000/$35,000:
- The cost of repairs and rental charges during repair.
- The actual cash value of the car.
Important: For our primary coverage to apply, you must have a valid driver’s license, be listed on the rental agreement, and be legally and financially responsible for the damages.
Good to know: This coverage is not available in all destinations, including Costa Rica, Ireland, Jamaica, and Mexico.
The cost of your travel insurance policy can depend on many different factors unique to you and those traveling with you, such as your trip cost, state of residence, trip length, and age. Each of our plans and upgrades also has different pricing based on the coverage they provide.
Traveling with children? Our Owner Advantage Plan offers kids-included pricing. One child (aged 17 and under) is eligible for coverage at no additional cost on the base plan per each insured adult, as long as the child’s trip cost is equal to or less than the adult’s.
If you need to change certain details on your policy (such as your trip dates or the spelling of your name), you can either make a policy change online or call our customer service department.

At Travelex, our plans have review periods during which you can cancel your policy. If, within the first 21 days after purchasing a plan, you decide you no longer want your policy, and you have not departed or filed a claim, then we can refund your policy cost. The review period varies by state.
